We are the Association of British Women in Malaysia. The ABWM for short. Ladies like us have been welcoming new families, particularly Expat ladies, to Malaysia for 40 years. Our Patron, Her Excellency, Vicky Treadell British High Commissioner and Chairman, Mellanie Bolland run our not-for-profit organisation supported by a small committee of volunteers. As most of our circa 300 members will tell you, it's a very friendly, welcoming community of ladies. Come and join us and see for yourself. In a recent member survey we got a 90% satisfaction rating, so we must be doing something right!
Our aim is to be the Expatriate Association of choice for women in KL, by offering members the support and social opportunities they are seeking.
We're a fun-loving and welcoming crowd who care deeply about the community we live in. We are always looking to invite new members to take part in our activities. Our values are CHARITY, FUN and SUPPORT.
Our Guiding Principles
- We want to offer newcomers such an inspiring welcome that they choose to join our Association.
- We offer on-going support to those requiring assistance with any aspect of their daily lives in KL.
- We run enjoyable events, some of which raise funds for Malaysian Charities that members can volunteer to help if they wish.
- We always have fun whilst living our values!
