Malaysian Conservation Alliance for Tigers (MYCAT)
MYCAT is an alliance of four main wildlife conservation NGOs working in Malaysia, namely the Malaysian Nature Society, TRAFFIC Southeast Asia, Wildlife Conservation Society- Malaysia Programme and WWF- Malaysia.
They have the specific task of trying to save the tiger population in Malaysia. Money donated this year will be used to fund the Citizen Action for Tigers programme. This enables weekend volunteers to spend time in Taman Negara monitoring and reporting on suspicious activities to MYCAT’s Wildlife Crime Hotline, which relays the information to the authorities. Through this programme, MYCAT also collaborates with the local communities to save wildlife and forests while enhancing their livelihoods.
