A couple of dedicated ABWM members began this course in 2005. They recognised how daunting it can be coming to a new city where you don't know anyone and decided to get small groups of newcomers together to explore the city together. Men and women are both welcome to join. The course is jam packed with information about where to shop, which are the best restaurants and how to entertain your family. Over the course of 4 weeks, newbies can get their questions answered, discover new places to eat, shop and much more besides.
So if you're new to KL put yourselves in our capable hands and let us help you settle into this exciting city, make some new friends and have fun.
We run the course over four consecutive Tuesdays between 9am and 1.30pm. Timings are approximate and flexible if a participant has children or other commitments that they need to return to at a certain time.
We aim to have groups of six to eight who will be led by our Hello KL organisers. These volunteers will be delighted to share their knowledge of the city and other parts of Malaysia with you. They will provide you with a wealth of information gleaned from their years of living here as expats. Our aim is to equip you in one month with all the knowledge it has taken them years to learn.
We travel around in a minibus that seats 10 and sometimes use public transport, to give you a taste of a different mode of travelling. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children on the course; there is quite a lot of walking involved and much of it is in places without footpaths.
The Hello KL organisers will be delighted to welcome you to the course, so book early to secure your place.
RM350 for members and RM400 for non members.
