Renewal of Membership now due |
The Association of British Women in Malaysia was established in 1975. We are a non-profit making organisation, and run many events for our members, who are often expatriate women accompanying husbands on assignment to Malaysia. (Please click here to see our profile). We also have members who are married to Malaysian citizens or are here on the "Malaysia my Second Home" programme or have chosen to retire to Malaysia and are therefore residing here permanently. While mainly based in and around Kuala Lumpur, we have several members elsewhere in Malaysia who keep in touch via our monthly magazine. The ABWM provides an opportunity for women new to the country to make friends and get involved with the local community. Monthly coffee mornings and lunches provide an opportunity to make new friends and catch up with old ones. We also organise regular trips and activities for the benefit of our members, and sponsor and work in a number of local charities. The association has many members from a variety of backgrounds which makes for a very lively and friendly group. We'd be delighted to meet you so please don't hesitate to get in touch either once you're in Malaysia or when you're planning your move. You can also find the ABWM on Facebook if you search for 'British Women'. Here you will find activities and events, and a discussion board. Please join the group to keep up to date with information. Please bear in mind that all Committee members are volunteers and may not answer their email or phone immediately, but leave a message and they will get back to you. If you are wanting to do some office based voluntary work in KL like PR, Marketing, Ad sales, Magazine, Accounts, House-keeping, general admin to name a few. |
