AWAM (All Women's Action Society)
AWAM, an organisation whose mission is to improve the lives of women in Malaysia, provides counselling and services to women who have been victims of domestic violence, sexual harrassment and rape. They are looking for volunteers who can spend time with the women, providing advice and training in life skills such as parenting, public speaking and interviewing and engaging in leisure aciivities such as cooking, sewing, grooming etc.

e-Homemakers
e-Homemakers helps disadvanteged, low-income women by creating and supporting them in income generating business projects so they can become independent. e-Homemakers is looking for writers who would be keen to write up profiles and CVs for disadvantaged women to help them find jobs. Volunteers are also needed to help sell their eco-baskets at special events and to help with other special projects such as administration and fundraising.

Nur Salam
Nur Salam is a shelter and activity centre for street children in the Chow Kit area. Children registered at the centre are given food and shelter and are exposed to educational, health and recreational activities and programmes. Volunteers can help children with homework and tuition and organise recreational activities.

Women's Aid Organisation (WAO)
Opened as Malaysia's first refuge, the Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) offers shelter and counselling to battered women and their children. WAO also runs a child care centre. Volunteers are needed to help at either of their two centres. At the women's refuge, volunteers are need to help with women's programmes - art, grooming, health talks, computer and English classes, cooking and baking, sewing and knitting etc.
At the child care centre, volunteers are asked to commit at least 6 months to teach the children in various subjects. Help is needed for one-on-one tuition in English, maths, science, computer skills, art and other subjects. Volunteers are also need to escort children on educational field trips, play games and engage in activities such as art therapy, drama and dance.
