Hi, I am Maxine Venter originally from South Africa. I am the secretary for the ABWM
since August 2020. I moved here with my husband from Santiago, Chile 2 years ago. My husband works in the renewable energy sector.
Professionally I am a Social Worker and Counsellor. We have two grown up children; our daughter (27 years) is studying in Germany (Masters degree in Education) and our son (21 years) is studying in Holland (Bachelor Multi-media and Game Design).
We lived in Chile for 15 years and I was very involved in the charity committee of the International Association of Chile for 13 years, as well as chair of the South African community and also served on the PTA at the international school as the events co-ordinator and later the transition co-ordinator 2009 - 2019.
I love the diversity of the many different cultures and food here in Malaysia. I enjoy ceramic painting, sewing, mahjong, walking and travelling. I believe it is important to support our community, to contribute towards those less fortunate in Malaysia and to also enjoy what my new home country has to offer. I look forward to working with the dynamic ABWM committee.
