Tasputra Perkim is a day centre that works with, on average, 36 disabled individuals per day. Most are children and young people between ages of 2 and 30 although some older individuals also attend.
Those attending the Centre are primarily diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities, Global Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, physical challenges such as blindness, or have a combination of these.
We need volunteers to empower and assist the staff. This could be in the form of teaching a staff member basic computer skills. Volunteers to simply “be” with the children. Those who would like to spend a few hours each week completing an art activity, reading to the children, or playing a game. Help from physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, doctor, nurses, special needs teachers, or those from similar backgrounds, would be especially appreciated.
